Rafa sets deadline for Moussa Sissoko offers but confirms he IS set to potentially face Huddersfield
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s match, Rafa Benitez has confirmed that Mohamed Diame, Ciaran Clark AND Moussa Sissoko are in his squad to face Huddersfield.
Having been back at the training ground for the past two weeks, no reason why Sissoko shouldn’t be fit enough to at least be on the bench.
Rafa Benitez, ever the professional, complimenting the twisty faced irritant, saying that the French midfielder has trained well and is a ‘good professional’.
Can we take a vote on that one…?
However, Rafa Benitez has also warned that clubs should come in for Moussa Sissoko in the coming days if they are really want him.
The United boss saying that he is quite happy to keep the midfielder if nobody offers the right money, plus Rafa says that once it gets towards the end of the month he may be unwilling to sell Moussa Sissoko if it is then too late to use that money on a replacement(s).
With Newcastle United looking in need of more creativity and goal threat, I can’t help but be convinced that Rafa Benitez will refuse to allow the massive own goals of the past, when both Andy Carroll and Yohan Cabaye were sold by Mike Ashley with no replacements brought in during the short-term, or arguably even the longer term…
Rafa Benitez at his pre-Huddersfield press conference:
“Moussa is someone we like as an individual and as a player.
“If someone come in with a right offer we will consider it but if it’s not the right offer we are pleased to keep him here.
“If someone is waiting to do a deal on 30th August, no chance, because we don’t need to sell.”
