Newcastle meet release clause and Diame en route to Tyneside for medical
Newcastle United have met the release clause for Mohamed Diame.
News broke earlier today that Newcastle were interested in the midfielder and now George Caulkin of The Times, has revealed that the player is currently en route to Tyneside for his medical.
Rafa Benitez had stated over the weekend that he had signings ready to go, with a number of players also expected to leave.
The 29 year old Diame scored 10 goals in 34 Championship starts (plus 7 as sub) for Hull City as they were promoted last season.
The Senegal international having played the previous six seasons in the Premier League with Wigan, West Ham and Hull.
