Rob Elliot has been given a new extended contract by Newcastle United.
In an exclusive, The Times report that Newcastle have rewarded the goalkeeper with a new deal despite still recovering from injury.
Rob Elliot picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury on international duty, which ruled him out of the relegation run-in and Euro 2016.
The 30 year old was expected to leave Newcastle after becoming third choice but injuries to Tim Krul and Karl Darlow presented him with his opportunity last season.
Elliot played 21 Premier League matches last season, as compared to only 15 in the previous four years for Newcastle.
Starting only two games for Rafa Benitez before injury, Rob Elliot made his last Newcastle appearance in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
