Steve McClaren under consideration to be boss at Premier League club

After failing to get a number of lower league jobs including Cardiff since his sacking in March, Steve McClaren is a surprise contender to bounce back into the Premier League.

McClaren is a serious contender after applying for the Hull City job, with HITC reporting that their information is that the Humberside club’s owners could give him the job.

Steve Bruce walked out on Hull City with widespread media claims that a failure to back him in the transfer market and allow him to make the big decisions, was behind the parting of the ways.

With Steve McClaren, HITC say one of the big attractions for Hull’s owners is that he has already shown at Newcastle he will settle for just coaching the team, with no real power when it comes to transfers or other major issues.

Many Newcastle fans were gutted when Mike Ashley selected Steve McClaren as the latest yes man after Pardew & Carver, their fears realised as disaster struck in the form of relegation, largely due to the failed transfer policy under Graham Carr with the manager having no say.

As a serial failure before he got the Newcastle job, no doubt Hull fans will be dreading Steve McClaren potentially getting the job, having now added Newcastle to the list of clubs he has failed at.
