Newcastle’s Championship power shown by ability to name these 2 separate teams

The Championship has proved a difficult proposition in recent times, with very few favourites justifying that title by the end of the season.

Newcastle United are seen as certainties by many to instantly return to the Premier League and have been given that poisoned chalice of hot favouritism by the bookmakers.

The transfer activity so far in this window has backed up that outlook, Newcastle the biggest Championship spenders and despite the loss of Andros Townsend, signings of the calibre of Gayle, Gamez and Ritchie make United look even more the part.

Looking at our squad as it currently stands, I have put together two separate Newcastle teams below.

You have to think that surely either of these sides would/should be good enough to storm the division.

Despite naming 22 different players there were still this lot who I couldn’t find a space for.

Siem de Jong, Yoan Gouffran, Henri Saivet, Emmanuel Riviere, Sammy Ameobi, Tim Krul, Rob Elliot and Massadio Haidara.

I picked these two Newcastle teams before hearing about yet another injury to Siem de Jong, so quite apt that I hadn’t even bothered finding a space for him…

Team A

Team B

Feel free to leave comments below, which of these Newcastle teams would you prefer?
