That Moussa Sissoko Thank You statement – Full Translation
Moussa Sissoko has published a very long ‘Thank You’ note.
In the aftermath of losing out to Portugal in the final of the European Championships, the Newcastle midfielder has produced something that any Oscar winner would be proud of in their acceptance speech.
Needless to say, it will no doubt leave Newcastle fans feel even more bemused and detached from what goes on in the head of Moussa Sissoko.
It would have been a dream for United supporters to see Alan Shearer lift the World Cup when he was also wearing the black and white of Newcastle United, even in 2012 it would have been a real buzz for Magpies fans if Yohan Cabaye had helped France to win the Euros.
So it was all very strange for those of us watching France v Portugal, the appearance and performance of Moussa Sissoko left Newcastle supporters with a whole range of emotions – but very very few of them positive ones.
So have a read of Moussa’s ‘Thank You’ below, the full translation kindly supplied by our friendly translator Pierre.
Moussa Sissoko message to us all:
‘To you all,
The Euros finished last night. Unfortunately it did not finish as we had hoped, and as you were hoping. We have felt your incredible and magical ‘Françaises’ and ‘Français’ support. How could I possibly not take the time to thank you, all.
First of all I would like to thank the residents of Aulnays for their support without fail. Aulnay-Sous-Bois in my life is my starting point it is from where everything started and I will never forget it! My attachment and my gratitude for MY town are eternal. I do not forget any of your faces, you are in my heart, all.
To my mother, my father, my sisters, my nephew. They are my first circle, my protection, my happiness, my pride, the circle of my love. Their unbreakable support makes me happy and calm. I love you, all.
To my son that I love without limits, Kaïs. He is the source of my strength, of my motivation, of my energy. His affection, his kindness and his love are the engine of my life. One day he will become a man. Today as tomorrow, he will remain my baby.
To my teachers, my trainers, from d’ Aulnay-Sous-Bois, to Red Star via Toulouse and Newcastle. You have taught me football, respect, discipline and the love of the game. You are all in my thoughts.
To my agent, my confident, my uncle, Bakari. Always here for me since I was small. His energy and his care give me what I need. Thank you to him and his associate Seran Diabaté to be by my side.
Finally, to the ‘Françaises’ and ‘Français’ who allowed us to realise this beautiful journey. Those faces, those smiles, your encouragement, your kindness will always be engraved in my memory.
Your messages that you took the time to send to me here, on social media have touched me. Please feel that you are forevermore thanked as they are the streams which tomorrow will make rivers of our victories. The word thank you is too weak to express to you as you have given us happiness and emotion. Thank you to you all!
We haven’t won the title but I hope that our team has won your trust and your hearts.
It is also for us one of the most beautiful victories of this Euros 2016!’
