Aleksandar Mitrovic is only focused on one thing

Aleksandar Mitrovic was straight back into pre-season training after a 25 day rest following international commitments.

It was previously reported that the likes of Mitrovic, Paul Dummett and Gini Wijnaldum would be taking extra time off after being involved in post-season friendlies for their respective countries.

However, great to see that all were back for the very start of pre-season, only Moussa Sissoko missing after he played in the Euros right through to the final.

Mitrovic is only focused on one thing and that is promotion back to the Premier League for both himself and Newcastle United.

In preparation for the Championship kick-off, Mitrovic also loved the high ropes team building session over in Ireland on Tuesday, saying that he wasn’t scared and just trying ‘to help my team-mates to not fall down’.

That was one mission successfully achieved, now for the promotion which is essential if the Ravalution is to get proper momentum.

Aleksandar Mitrovic talking to NUFC TV:

“It was a hard session today (Thursday) but we have a free afternoon so can relax.

“We train hard and try to prepare our bodies for the new season.”

Outdoor pursuits/high ropes session on Tuesday:

“It’s always good to have fun with your team-mates, really nice afternoon that the team enjoyed.”

‘Some of the players were scared, were you?’

“No, I just tried to help my team-mates to not fall down.

“I’m not afraid and it was really nice and we should do more of these things.

“The result (v Bohemian on Saturday) is not so important, we need to see where we are and how hard we need to work towards the first game of the season.

“It is always harder to run 90 minutes in a match than in training.

“I scored a couple of goals in friendlies for my country and then 25 days rest.

“Now to prepare my body for the season. It will be a long season and we have to do everything to get promoted.”
