Newcastle linked with move for Ladislav Krejci

Newcastle United have now been linked with Sparta Prague winger Ladislav Krejci.

The 23 year old has won his 24th senior cap for the Czech Republic today against Spain in the Euros, the player having scored four times for his country.

During commentary on ITV, Ian Wright has mentioned Newcastle’s interest in the player.

There was no explanation of the background to Wright’s comment but Ladislav Krejci was mentioned a year ago, with Pavel Srnicek saying he had recommended Newcastle United to his young countryman and that Krejci was enthusiastic when Pav was extolling the virtues of his former club.

Playing his club football in the Czech Republic means the standard won’t be the highest but in the last five seasons he has scored 41 goals for his club, including a couple in Champions League football.

The left winger turns 24 in July and could be ready at this stage of his career for a new challenge.

If there is any genuine interest from Newcastle, then it would then be interesting just how well Rafa Benitez can sell Newcastle United in the Championship to players from abroad.
