Bristol City fans rate Newcastle United and Aston Villa

Ahead of the new season, Bristol City fans have been asked which stadiums they are most looking forward to visiting.

In over 20 years, Newcastle have only been in the same division once before, when NUFC last got relegated in 2009.

At St James Park the score was 0-0 in that 2009/10 season, whilst at Ashton Gate, Bristol City led 2-0 at the break and it took second half goals from Andy Carroll and Jonas Gutierrez to snatch a draw.

The relegated clubs have figured highly when the supporters have replied to the poll.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa dominating the voting, although no sign of Norwich.

The Bristol Post final voting figures for which Championship team the Bristol City fans were most looking forward to visiting, ended up as:

46% Newcastle United

42% Aston Villa

5% Fulham

5% Nottingham Forest

2% Reading

A close result between the two relegated teams and not sure whether the closer proximity of Villa Park helped that venue out – but the figures were a lot different when a local paper asked Burton Albion fans the same question, see HERE for that voting.

When asked which club they were least looking forward to visiting, Barnsley (36%) and Rotherham (25%) were where Bristol City fans didn’t fancy going.
