4 Premier League clubs register interest in Ayoze Perez – Reports

Claims this morning that four clubs have registered an interest in buying Ayoze Perez this summer.

It is reported by HITC Sport that their information is that Manchester City, Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham have all been in touch to enquire about the striker/attacking midfielder’s availability.

It is claimed by them that Rafa Benitez doesn’t believe the Spaniard will be suited by Championship football.

Ayoze Perez scored a decent six goals from 22 league starts (plus 12 as sub) last season, following up his impressive first one in the Premier League when he scored seven times.

However, at times he was similar to Gini Wijnaldum in that he was totally anonymous in some games and it is maybe difficult to see where his best position.

Rafa started his countryman in three of his first four matches in charge but then only one of the final six when Newcastle were unbeaten in those half dozen relegation run-on games.

Turning 23 next month, Ayoze Perez definitely has ability but it is very hard to see the likes of Manchester City, Spurs and Arsenal having any interest in him.

More importantly, for Newcastle fans the most important thing will be whether Rafa Benitez sees the former Tenerife player as an integral part of his plans. If not, then the same as any other player (apart from Townsend and Mbemba, possibly Lascelles) I would be happy for him to be traded in and the money used on a player of the manager’s choosing.

With 39 days until Newcastle play Fulham, we are still waiting for the transfer business to kick-off and the squad to be moulded to the wishes of Rafa.
