The usual wearing of the new Newcastle strip didn’t happen on the final home day of the season.
Traditionally, the new home Newcastle strip goes on sale a couple of days before the final home match, then the players wear it in that final game.
However, like a lot of things at the minute, such as who the manager will be, there has been no indication of what the new home strip will look like.
Usually, we get the black and white effort in May and then the second and third strips are released later in the summer.
At the moment, Puma are heavily promoting the upcoming Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund strips that they also are responsible for but not a single mention as to when any Newcastle one will be available or what it will look like.
Sadly Wonga is once again set to feature as this is the final year of their shirt sponsorship, although it won’t be on the new kids’ strips that are sold as they were forced to accept that this was inappropriate after sustained pressure.
In the absence of any 2016/17 home Newcastle strip made public as yet, this image is currently circulating on social media.
