The win will be casting off the past
Tomorrow it is the return of the chancer to St James Park.
Most of the season I have not been expecting a win and three points.
Against Everton, the Martinez teams always pass us off the pitch, same with Bournemouth.
Expectations so low, team sheet selection always the same names…but tomorrow I don’t expect a loss, instead a win – and a good one too!
But why does it mean so much?
The keeping of our Premier League status is actually quite low for me, I want us to stuff the Eagles, humiliate them and showboat a bit.
For me the win will be casting off the past, this is against a guy in Alan Pardew who shut out Hatem Ben Arfa, a frustrating player yes – but a world beater on his day.
Destroyed Jonas and was complicit in his horrible treatment by a horrible owner.
Remember our youth team? He turned them from a promising bunch into shadows of their former selves.
Told the world he would not sell Andy Carroll not under his watch, EVER!
Tomorrow there is going to be a wall of sound and emotion and I can’t wait, I hope we beat them….
