Watch below as Newcastle visited Swansea on Monday night – eight goals to enjoy.

The United reserves turned out at the Liberty Stadium and found themselves 4-1 down at half-time.

On these highlights, definitely worth seeing a superb double save by Newcastle keeper Nathan Harker that kept out a Swansea penalty that would have made it 5-1, also worth seeing the crunching ‘tackle’ that gave them the spot-kick (go straight to 2.30 for that).

A final scoreline of 5-3 and three decent goals for United, maybe the pick being the final one from winger Callum Roberts, his eighth of the season.

However, the five goals conceded was very reminiscent of the first team’s defending at Norwich

In charge of the Under 21s Peter Beardsley summed up last night’s game:

“In terms of the attacking play, there was some fantastic stuff.

“I thought we played well in lots of the game and the amount of chances we created was really good, but defensively we were all over the place in the first half.

“Nathan (Harker – goalkeeper) played well again, which was massive for him and very pleasing, but there was a few that at times should have tackled, and I’ve told them. They should have tackled – they waltzed through us a few times a bit too easily, so that was a disappointment.”
