Why Rafa Benitez is set to not change his system
When I was given The Mag after my father had read it back in the early 90s, I would read it cover to back, and laugh and laugh at all the funny happenings that surrounded the regular writers going off to the matches and all they saw and reported on.
An education I would call it, lucky to be part of the witnessing as well, there was always a musical reference or two – like listening to Nirvana in a car going to a match or something similar. My ramblings here are dedicated to Mr Ian Dury and a song written by him with the help of others called “You’ll see glimpses”, if you get a chance please read the lyrics and see how you feel about yourself and life or Newcastle United!
In life it takes all sorts to create the brilliant world we inhabit and the Premier League, a football microcosm that seems to be on the verge of change, with or without Newcastle United, is finding a way for our team to survive.
Like the plagues of Egypt that Moses bought down, or trials of Hercules to find out whether he was a god. NUFC are seemingly now to slogging through their own challenges, with Manchester City turning up next to see if Newcastle United have fire in the belly and belief from the players to stay in the top tier.
I felt that we were doomed if we lost to Sunderland and when we gained that point I felt that things were on the turn. Then Norwich came and went and so did the Saints, but now I feel Rafa has had a mini sort out and the team now might be set, minus Shelvey, who I feel might have lost his mind and got sent off against his old team if he’d started.
Rafa I think will not even change the system for Man City, he now can work with a winning team that have fight and ability.
I want survival, I see it happening and believe we are on the verge of the Great Escape and a better outcome than Steve McQueen and his motorbike! I have had glimpses just like you will have all done, on how we are going to do it.
So here are the ins and outs of the remaining fixtures in my humble opinion.
A tough nut to crack, have some of the best players in the world but don’t have enough eyes, One eye on Europe, One eye on “Pep”, One eye on the league. I can see them beating us, but a draw would not be beyond our squad, a win would be outstanding!
I have a love hate relationship with Liverpool, love it when we beat them, hate them every time they beat us. I predict that NUFC will lose this match….but this is simply to undermine their usual hoodoo over Newcastle at Anfield, for a potential away win as Liverpool also have their eyes elsewhere – the Europa League semi-final in their case.
We knew this was coming but Alan Pardew is three managers ago, I appeal to you all to ignore the man, not worth a penny’s worth of time. It could be a hard game, but winnable, and this is a must win because we are better than this! It will obviously be a media circus but, ignore it, the papers will be out to create something and nothing, It’s Palace, they are mediocre at best.
Turn up, Tune in. Three points or we deserve all we get.
Well come on Leicester, we need the Foxes to be champions before 15 May 2016 and Spurs to be secure in 2nd place. Turn up with their youths/second string to play out their season without injury to protect Englands’ finest. Could be another three points for our team with fight and passion.
I believe, so let’s raise our game as fans, ignore the Pardew circus and crack on! SAFETY AND SUCCESS!
