Newcastle team v Manchester City to win the match

Here is the Newcastle team v Manchester City that can deliver consecutive home wins.

Rafa Benitez showed he wasn’t afraid to make big decisions and changes on Saturday to suit the circumstances and tonight I think it should be more of the same.

The Newcastle boss has indicated that the likes of Janmaat, Coloccini and Mbabu won’t play tonight, along with the rest of the injured players who aren’t ready to come back either.

So with nobody new available, Rafa is left with the same deck of cards to play with.

I think he will leave the back five alone after the clean sheet v Swansea and few viable alternatives but I would go for three changes in the front six.

Mitrovic impressed off the bench and must surely come in for Cisse, who did kind of ok but was pretty ineffective and non-threatening against Swansea.

Jonjo Shelvey is another who we need back in, Tiote and Colback did alright and helped keep things tight until the second half saw the Swans begin to cut through, with Tiote tiring. On top of that, whilst defensively we looked alright, there was very little attacking intention or creativity – scoring two from corners and only the later stages when Mitrovic added the third did United then look like they had goals in them.

My third choice would see Andros Townsend in a free role behind Mitrovic and Wijnaldum dropping to the bench after yet another totally anonymous performance.

The player I’d like to see come in would be Rolando Aarons as a bit of a wildcard to offer something different, his pace added to that of Townsend and to an extent Sissoko, could see United getting some joy going forward.

Also, the pace of Aarons would enable him to get back and help Paul Dummett, who is set for a bigger test than he faced against Swansea on his return.
