Mike Ashley and Newcastle lose Jonas Gutierrez disability discrimination tribunal
Jonas Gutierrez has WON his case for Disability Discrimination against Newcastle United and Mike Ashley.
The former Newcastle player brought the case when he developed testicular cancer and felt the club didn’t treat him in the correct way.
Amongst others, Sky Sports have confirmed that Jonas Gutierrez won on two of the four counts of disability discrimination.
A claim of unfavourable treatment, plus another of harassment, were dismissed.
This represents yet another disgraceful episode in the running of the club under Mike Ashley.
Currently heading for the second relegation from the Premier League in eight attempts under his ownership, it is also the second tribunal that Ashley has lost whilst at Newcastle.
The previous one saw Kevin Keegan win around £2m after the club was shown to have lied to him.
In the Jonas Gutierrez tribunal, Mike Ashley called upon John Carver, Lee Charnley and Alan Pardew to give evidence to back his case against the popular Argentine football player.
Their part in this disgraceful episode will be noted by Newcastle supporters.
