The last true leader lost to Newcastle United
Poor Jonas Gutierrez.
I did not want to jump the gun – Mike Ashley put his best legal team into this. Lined up his stars (Pardew, Carver and Penfold) and rolled the dice.
Thank something that Jonas won, I still remember crying and jumping around like a loon when he scored one of his rare goals – that didn’t only mean so much to him but to everyone with a sh*t boss who doesn’t want them around.
I remember reading on The Mag about him doing charity runs and training with his local team – doing everything in his power to get selected.
I am a Geordie and a Newcastle fan – and damn proud of both.
But when the people who own and manage the club, as well as the fall guy (Charnley) do this to such an honest and kind guy, it makes me question why do I support such a horrible institution?
No doubt ‘lessons will be learned’ and all that rubbish when they cannot appeal – but I will remember what they did.
Our current crop of players don’t care and if we had the best manager in the World, I don’t think he could motivate our team.
Simple really, any character or soul in our team had has been stripped out and sold for a knock down price to the highest buyer.
Jonas Gutierrez was the last true leader we had on the pitch. His actions, his words and his ability, put him on a course to beat it out of the rest of them, to get them by the scruff of the neck and say ‘if I can do it why the hell can’t you?’
Let’s see if someone else steps up in the Swansea match?
