Andy Gray sees change happening at Newcastle United.
The former Sky Sports presenter thinks that Rafa Benitez is ‘starting to work his magic’ at St James Park but obviously with time running out, he says that Newcastle have to beat Crystal Palace today.
When it comes to determining the result, Andy Gray also sees two, or possibly three, factors at play.
Gray points out that Palace are all but mathematically safe and so have little to play for, whilst he also says that Alan Pardew will be desperate not to get any of his better players injured before the FA Cup final.
Those are negatives for Palace when it comes to getting a result today but for the Magpies, Andy Gray sees that Rafa Benitez has the total support of the Newcastle fans and ‘that could be enough’ to grab another three points.
With Palace failing to win an away game in over four months and Newcastle lifted by three positive results/performances in a row, there really is no excuse for anything but a convincing win for Newcastle’s players today.
Andy Gray writing for Paddy Power:
“Palace managed to see off Watford last week at Wembley but apart from that they have nothing really left to play for.
“The last thing that Alan Pardew will want when he visits his old club is for someone like Bolasie to get injured.
“Rafa Benitez is starting to work his magic but needs to get the three points here because it’ll heap the pressure on to Norwich.
“He has the support of the fans. That could be enough.”
