So much for the ‘Let’s all laugh at Aston Villa party’…
Well, that’s it, I hope by the time anyone reads this, Steve McClaren will have been duly dispatched.
Pundits say we have no patience, Alan Shearer though says it as it is. Newcastle United are a shambles, a club with no direction, no leadership, no responsibility and no hope.
Steve McClaren is in denial, of that there is no doubt, he believes he has the players onside, he believes he is doing the right things, hell, he even believes he is not going bald! Maybe when he wakes up and smells the coffee, he will get a sense of reality and shave that ginger tuft off.
Look in the mirror man, it’s not just your management skills that are ridiculous.
He has had plenty money to spend and has signed some quality players, but I think everyone can see they are just not playing for him, £25m on two left wingers in the same season, one of whom is back in France because ….well because in a nutshell he is £13m worth of pants.
Look at our powerhouse Moussa Sissoko, a player who should be as effective as Yaya Toure, he is quite simply the opposite, totally useless and does not give a damn.
Then we have Ayoze Perez, a player who does give a damn and quite good as well, but because he has those qualities – Tufty leaves him on the bench, staggering.
He plays a centre forward who does not score goals (Rivière), spends £12 million on a one who used to score goals and gets one in on loan who is anywhere from 28 to 41 (not goals but his age), no wonder we have not scored many this season.
Defensively, we are woeful; no decent left back, a centre half (Taylor) who does care but due to injury never reached his potential (and never will) and a centre half (Lascelles) signed from one of his many previous failed management efforts.
I am writing this hoping for a Sky Sports news flash…’Steve McClaren has been sacked’…but alas not yet, we can only wait and hope.
The brutal truth is we are going to be in the Championship next season, and unlike last time when the core of the squad stayed together to fight while telling the Duffs etc to do one, this time there is nothing.
The modern day Duffs and Owens will slope off into the night and we will be left with only a one way ticket to oblivion.
In my eyes, the only hope of survival is get a new boss in and hope that new manager syndrome has some effect, but it has to be now, games are slipping away and we are in danger of being relegated well before the end of the season.
So much for the planned ‘Let’s all laugh at Aston Villa’ party, it will instead be a joint wake for ourselves and Villa.
Next up is Leicester, a team showing everyone how things should be done, I take my hat off to them, the word team being very apt, Newcastle are not a team and they should be renamed Newcastle Dis-United.
After that it is the huge ‘two bald men fighting over a comb’ derby, a 7th straight defeat is very unacceptable but very likely, the difference between us and them is simply they are fighting for their cause while our lot meekly surrender.
I wish I could be positive, I wish I could say something hopeful, I wish Steve McClaren would lose his tuft…but overall I just wish Steve McClaren would go today.
