Why Newcastle United didn’t try this earlier points to somebody’s man-management…

It might be the spring weather but I am feeling a lot more positive about Newcastle United and football….

Instead of folding like cheap wet paper bags in the last two matches, it looks like we have found a backbone!

Credit to Rafa Benitez for this, as for a long long while it seemed like we had no style or anything that suited our team, since 4-3-3 and Ba & Cisse scoring for fun.

So to our next match – I hope we see that monster of a Serb up front along with Cisse, providing knockdowns passes and generally being annoying to Sebastien Bassong.

In midfield and on the wings I would love to see Perez on the right, Townsend on the left – with De Jong and Shelvey in the middle.

We might be able to dominate the midfield, something lacking since Barton and Nolan used to throttle Arsenal defenders for diving.

Although right and left-back are weak points, I am enjoying Jamaal Lascelles (pictured scoring v Watford above) keeping Taylor out and growing into each match, why we didn’t try this earlier points to someone’s (lack of) man-management…

And finally Rob Elliot, I honestly hope we keep him over summer and sell Tim Krul.

Why? Simply, I think he believes his own hype and was suspect in a lot of goals before he ended up injured.
