Alan Pardew makes it 0 wins in 11 and Crystal Palace fans react – Gift that keeps on giving

Alan Pardew is now 15 months into his time as manager at Selhurst Park and the Crystal Palace fans are starting to see things a little more clearly now..

Spending plenty of money on the likes of Yohan Cabaye, the Palace supporters were raised on the back of Pardew’s successful first half season when he kept them afloat with something to spare.

A good start to this campaign saw fifth place for Palace and then after beating Stoke away (that would be handy…) 11 weeks ago, the bubble has burst.

Last night Crystal Palace fans saw Pardew and the team throw away what would have been their first win in 11 Premier League games, Borini scoring in the final seconds after Cabaye and (what looked like) match winner Connor Wickham subbed.

After the final whistle the Crystal Palace fans had plenty to say about their leader…

Comments are taken from the top Crystal Palace message board, well worth a read…

‘Useless substitutions which cost us the game. As soon as Wickham came off we were under pressure. We were no longer defending from the front. I’m pleased we didn’t lose but there is still so much work to be done and I don’t think Pardew can pull it out the bag! Millen in please for rest of season. Do one Pardew!’

‘Take your best player off wonderful tactics super al.’

‘We’ve been unlucky since the 19th of December how dare anyone suggest it’s the manager’s fault…’

‘Pardew should be sacked now before we end up in deep trouble! If we stay up then it will be due to other results not ours! Next season we will crumble! Can’t wait to spend a load of money on a has been again that ain’t playing for the shirt for example (Adebayor) cabaye etc’

‘The main thing was to prevent them (Sunderland) winning – mission accomplished. Calls to sack AP are absurd. That would just spell PANIC. We’re not that sort of club…’

‘I’m not disputing how terrible we’ve become since December, but to sack Pardew now would be at the wrong time.’

‘I really cannot think of a winless run like this for many years, and imagine the comments if Warnock was in charge? Pardew seems exempt and I find that strange although I will always love the bloke for his villa Park goal which made my life.’

‘Same old same crap ! Apart from wickham scoring 2 goals. Same excuses we should of defended better, ref made some bad decisions, flukey goal. Fact is we didn’t get 3 points yet again didn’t start playing football until 60 mins yet again, lose a lead yet again, bla bla bla. Any other team would of sacked there manager by now. I like pardew but he’s getting this all wrong.’

‘How can anyone doubt that Alan is the best manager we’ve had for ages? He’s got a backroom brimming with red and blue devotees and a (co-) chairman who talks sense and backs it with cash.

Surely this is the stuff of dreams. Look at the nightmares elsewhere in the football world.

Come on – let’s thank our lucky stars.’

‘Pards deserves to see out the season and we see what he does between now and then, and possibly what he does with the major overhaul needed in bolstering the squad with more than 2nd rate reserves.’

‘I admit myself that i have been questioning him lately because i thought the players had stopped playing for him. Not tonight. The players were busting a gut out there.’

‘We haven’t won in 11 games and have the worst record this year of any team in all the top divisions in Europe. What should we be doing, dancing on the table and singing congratulations?’

‘The type of poncy stat we used to take the pi** out of Newcastle fans for quoting.’

‘Newcastle fans are laughing their socks off. After all the taking out of them it’s finally time they can say told you so. Pardew is not the messiah he is just a very naughty boy.’

‘Yet we’re not in the bottom three like they are. Can’t see the Wally with the Brolly keeping them up.’
