A team to be proud of, a team to raise your passions, a team to love
I have supported United for about sixty five years. When someone in the playground said who are you? Jackie Milburn I said – and the love affair started.
Simpson , Scoular, Keeble, Milburn, eleven full internationals in those days and no substitutes.
A team to be proud of, a team to raise your passions, a team to love.
Over the years there have been times when the love wore thin, but I have always remained faithful. But now I’m not so sure, there has been so little happiness these last few years the desire has gone.
I look at what was and what should be…and I cringe. I can’t bear to see her any more, it makes me so sad.
Being serious, what can be done?
Well we need a sporting director, my choice is Glenn Hoddle, give him a three year contract. With the task to sort it out top to bottom.
Why do all our teams lose so many games?
Why do we have so many injuries, are they over trained?
What are our tactics, same for youth through to first team? Losing that is.
Why do we buy players that aren’t what we need, Saviet is a good point, can’t get in the team as a winger or central midfielder so what’s wrong with him?
The Two French wingers no longer at United, what a wast of money. Yet we are told we were interested in players who then go to other clubs and are huge successes, Dele Alli for one.
There is so much wrong and so much needs changing, I haven’t even mentioned the manager who isn’t managing. The managing director who doesn’t direct. The board that is superfluous, the head scout that’s lost touch and the coaching staff that aren’t coaching.
Football is a simple game my old coach said; you pass, you receive, control and pass again.
If everyone can do that then the other team don’t get the ball.
SIMPLE – add fight passion and desire, you get a winning team.
When, and if, United do this my love will return.
