The Newcastle team v West Brom – Attack best form of defence
Here is the Newcastle team v West Brom that can start the revival.
I haven’t been so depressed as I was after the game at Everton since…the last time!
Honestly though, what goes through McClaren’s head?
Everton were there for the taking, beaten by Swansea in their last home game and not a win at Goodison since they played Villa in November.
It was their fourth game in 11 days and they’d played three times since Newcastle lost at Watford.
What was needed was an ultra high energy attack based approach to put Everton under pressure from the first minute, instead McClaren admitted his ‘plan’ was to let the home side have the ball as much as they want, in the hope they would give it away and Newcastle could run up the other end and score.
I wonder why that one went wrong…
Saturday though, Newcastle surely have no alternative but to throw everything at West Brom, particularly with all the injuries at the back meaningwe need to keep the ball away from our goal even more than usual!
Get our three top scorers on the pitch together and put them where they are the most dangerous, then Townsend and Sissoko giving width and pace on the wings.
If fit I would bring Colback in as Saivet is showing very little as he tries to come to terms with the Premier League.
With Mbemba surely not recovering after limping off on Wednesday and Lascelles suspended, it is time to call on Steven Taylor…
