Michael Owen prediction for Everton v Newcastle

Michael Owen has cast his ‘expert’ eye over the Everton v Newcastle match tomorrow night.

Neither side are in the greatest of form, Newcastle have only one win in their last eight matches (all competitions) while Everton have only one victory in their last 10 Premier League games…against Newcastle.

Michael Owen thinks this is a ‘massive game’ for the two teams, victory for Everton would pretty much dispel any relegation fears, whilst a win for the visitors would potentially lift Newcastle out of the relegation zone and the gap would only be five points betwee the two clubs.

Whatever the quality on show, Owen expects it to be entertaining with goals for both teams and Everton to come out on top.

Goodison Park is the Premier League ground that has seen the most goals this season and Michael Owen expects that trend to continue.

With the exception of Chelsea, all of Newcastle’s relegation rivals play tonight, so hopefully results aren’t too harsh and the likes of Norwich, Bournemouth and Swansea don’t cut Newcastle adrift.

If results go the wrong way tonight, then there is potential for Newcastle to be five points off fourth bottom and seven points adrift of fifth bottom.

Michael Owen writing for BetVictor:

“The Magpies have spent a lot of money in the Transfer Window and Andros Townsend is likely to make his debut at Goodison.

“The Blues have only kept one clean sheet in their 11 PL games so far this term and only Villa (8) have won fewer points from the last 30 available than Everton (9).

“I expect to see goals at Goodison in a massive game for both Clubs.”

Michael Owen’s tip – Everton to win and both teams to score at 21/10
