Following Steve McClaren press conference – Predicted Newcastle team v West Brom

Here is the predicted Newcastle team v West Brom following Friday afternoon’s Steve McClaren pre-match press conference.

The Newcastle Head Coach giving us a number of pointers as to who is and isn’t available.

McClaren confirmed that Jack Colback, Paul Dummett and Chancel Mbemba will all be missing on Saturday.

On the other hand Kevin Mbabu is fit and available, along with Steven Taylor, Steven McClaren indicating that the centre-back is set to start alongside Fabricio Coloccini.

As for Seydou Doumbia, the United boss made clear that he won’t be starting, but said that he hopes to bring him on at some point on Saturday.

With Aleksandar Mitrovic surely starting up front, I think there is one big decision.

It is whether you keep Ayoze Perez or Hanri Saivet in the team after Wednesday night’s debacle at Goodison Park.

It would be real attacking intent to play a 4-4-2 with Perez alongside Mitrovic and Wijnaldum paired with Jonjo Shelvey in the middle.

However, I predict that McClaren will stick with the ‘safer’ option of keeping Henri Saivet in the team to supposedly tighten things up at the back, despite the former Bordeaux midfielder struggling so far.

I hope I am proved wrong and that Perez will make the first eleven but here is the predicted Newcastle team v West Brom:
