Newcastle United are desperately trying to move Emmanuel Riviere and Yoan Gouffran back to France in this transfer window.

With both players clearly not up to Premier League standard and new arrivals pushing them even further down the pecking order, the club are at last taking decisive action to move them out.

In their last 79 matches combined for Newcastle in the Premier League, the two players have contributed three goals between them.

L’Equipe report that Newcastle offered Emmanuel Riviere to Lille but were insistent that they had to buy him, while the French club were only willing to take him on loan to see if he was good enough before making any kind of offer.
