Crystal Palace rule themselves out of Charlie Austin transfer
The future of Charlie Austin still hangs in the balance but one place he won’t be going is Selhurst Park, that is if you believe Alan Pardew…
The Crystal Palace boss said that the QPR striker ‘is of no interest to us’.
Breaking away from the usual managers union sticking together….Pardew also savaged his predecessor Neil Warnock.
When interviewed this week, Warnock said that he’d advised Charlie Austin to go to Crystal Palace because they were the perfect club for him.
However, Alan Pardew said that because of the mess Neil Warnock had made of the Palace job, he was ‘not really interested in his opinion’.
With so many Premier League clubs desperate for proven goalscorers, it seems inevitable that Charlie Austin will end up somewhere this month, especially as QPR have next to no chance of even making the play-offs.
However, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle see the QPR striker as the answer to their needs this transfer window and put in a credible bid.
Alan Pardew:
“Charlie Austin is of no interest to us.
“Neil Warnock was the manager here and he didn’t do very well so I am not really interested in his opinion.
“I have seen all the players that have been linked with us and not one of those is true. Somebody is giving out false information.
“We are looking at one or two choices but the names that have been linked with us, it is not them.”
