Moussa Sissoko ‘I know we can beat anyone as we did it against Spurs and Liverpool’

Moussa Sissoko hopes to see a ‘good Newcastle’ and a ‘great victory’ on Tuesday night.

Echoing Steve McClaren, Sissoko claims that Newcastle dominated the whole game against Watford, had a lot of chances but just didn’t finish them.

The stats showed that Newcastle only had two efforts on target though to Watford’s three, with the key moment just before half-time when Troy Deeney seized on Gini Wijnaldum’s poor backpass and easily rounded Rob Elliot to score.

Moussa Sissoko claims it is a good thing to have a big game only three days later but says that with it being against one of the ‘big’ teams, Newcastle have to be ‘solid and give 100%’.

Problem is that every opposition is starting to look ‘big’ for Newcastle now.

Manchester United were lucky to beat Sheffield United yesterday and Sissoko claims that he Newcastle are capable of beating anybody, as they proved it against Spurs and Liverpool this season.

Moussa Sissoko talking to NUFC TV:

“We dominated the game from the beginning until the end, we had a lot of chances which we didn’t score and then we had one mistake and they score.

“So we are really disappointed and we need to keep looking forward and try to score.

“We have another game on Tuesday, a massive game at home against Manchester United, so we hope we will win the game.”

‘A familiar story, go one down and can’t seem to be able to get back into games?’

“Yes, I think the last three of our games we play very well and create a lot of chances but we don’t score – and if you don’t score…the opposition can score at any moment.

“Today we are a little disappointed but we need to look forward, a good recovery tomorrow and then training on Monday – do everything to win this game against Manchester United.”

‘Gini Wijnaldum has been fantastic all season, a very rare mistake (led to Watford’s goal) from him?’

“Yes of course, from the beginning Gini played very well. Showed some very good things – he works a lot in training.”

‘Pleased to have another game only three days later?’

“Yes, I think it is a good thing to have another game soon and we will do everything to forget about this game – we have a massive game against a very big team so I hope we will win.

“When you play the big teams you need to be solid and give 100% because they have a lot of very good players – but I know we can beat anyone as we did it against Tottenham and Liverpool.

“Tuesday is going to be a very big game so I hope we will see a good Newcastle and a great victory.”
