35 minute hat-trick for Newcastle loan striker makes it 16 goals in 21
After a five week goal drought it was back to business for Newcastle loan striker Adam Armstrong.
The 18 year old hit a 35 minute hat-trick to help Coventry City to a 4-0 lead at half-time away at Crewe AND he supplied the assist for the other goal!
A more pedestrian second-half saw Coventry cruise to victory, adding only one more to give a finishing score of 5-0 to the Sky Blues.
Fellow Newcastle loanee Gael Bigirimana came on for the last half hour to help close the game out.
Amazingly Adam Armstrong had already hit five braces this season but had failed to convert any of them into a hat-trick.
However, today the Geordie striker takes the match ball home and now has a remarkable record of 16 goals in only 21 League One starts.
Earlier this week Steve McClaren confirmed that Adam Armstrong would be staying at Coventry until the end of the season on loan, whilst the Midlands press revealed that Coventry were looking to make Gael Bigirimana a permanent signing this month.
The Coventry win leaves them in fourth place, four points off the top.
