What Aston Villa fans had to say about the Newcastle match
Newcastle fans were looking forward to sealing a hat-trick of wins on Saturday teatime but how did the Aston Villa fans feel after yesterday’s very strange match?
A game that had plenty of taking points but very little quality.
Newcastle the better team in the first half, which wasn’t exactly difficult.
Only for Villa to have a go in the second half and make Newcastle look…?
So how did the Aston Villa fans see it?
Always interesting to get the opposing point of view and find out what the Aston Villa fans made of both their own team and Newcastle.
We searched out the reaction of the Aston Villa fans via one of their top message boards VillaTalk, a couple of extreme reactions to their new manager!:
‘Can’t believe what I’m seeing. We’re playing Newcastle, who have one of the worst defences in the league, and we’re parking the bus.’
‘Our defending is so crap – thank heavens Newcastle are equally crap.’
‘He (Sinclair) is trying his best to carry on the memory of Nzogbia.’
‘Newcastle have taken a leaf from our book when it comes to defending. Total headless chicken mode.’
‘This lot are here for the taking now. They are all over the place.’
‘I felt that today Newcastle had the better chances but actually we were probably the better team. With the type of football Garde wants to play, he needs better players.’
‘Our fans were great today and made a lot of noise. Big respect to the Geordies too, drank with them all day and they gave us nothing but the utmost respect. Cracking away day.’
‘Remi is a fool. Newcastle were there for the taking. He knows we HAVE to win and instead of making some positive attacking subs like bringing gil, grealish or adama does nothing. was happy with a point. very poor from him and very disappointed in him. that for me was 2 points dropped.’
‘Am I the only one who saw us dominate away from home? I am disappointed we didn’t win but we are playing much better.’
‘Disgusting. Newcastle were there for the taking today. Adama would’ve been perfect to bring on against Dummett who couldn’t cope with Ayew.’
‘Get Garde out now and get someone in who can build for when we are in the championship.’
‘Remi Garde will be delighted with that point. The guy is a totally awful manager and a giant prick as well.’
‘Coloccini has the biggest nose I have ever seen.’
‘Ayew is possibly the only Premier League quality footballer in that 11. Hutton is probably second.’
‘Well considering the first half and then the clear chances Newcastle had it’s lucky we even got a point. Why we can’t put in second half performances for a whole game though I’ll never know.’
