Supporters rated all 14 players (with the exception of sub Aleksandar Mitrovic which the automated stats system failed to pick up – apologies) used and from that there is generated the overall supporter marks for every player.
Your man of the match (fan ratings as at 11am on Monday morning – see below) had Rob Elliot in top spot, with a rating of 7.5 out of 10.
A bit of a concern when you are playing the worst team in the league and your goalkeeper is easily your best player!
It gets even worse when the next two highest rated players by fans are your centre-backs, Chancel Mbemba (6.7) and Fabricio Coloccini (6.6).
Newcastle’s Captain also getting the only goal for United with the midfield and strikers failing miserably.
Rock bottom of the starting eleven was striker Papiss Cisse (3.6) with a shocking opening half hour. However, he wasn’t alone, with nobody apart from the keeper and centre-backs managing to score even 6.0.
Siem de Jong was ranked the next worst (4.4) after Cisse, whilst Daryl Janmaat and Vurnon Anita (both 5.9) were best of the rest.
Interesting though to see Florian Thauvin getting a bit of recognition (5.8) for at last producing some decent crosses from the wing when he came on for Anita.
