Mitrovic could still be an asset at Newcastle if go with this plan

I saw my first Toon game in 1956 when my dad took me to the match aged six, I was totally hooked at once.

Since then I have marvelled at the  natural football skills of players like Mitchell, White, Allchurch, Smith, Green, Hibbitt, Speed, Beardsley, Gazza, Ginola and many more natural footballers, too many to mention.

As well as these great football technicians, the other type of players were just as great and effective and these were the true warriors who gave total commitment to the cause while wearing the Toon strip.

Players such as Harvey, Scoular, Brennan, McGrath, McNamee, Big Wyn ,Burton ,Kilcline and Venison, not to mention my great idols, Supermac and Our Lord Shearer.

I do not believe we will ever attract players of the skill of the players in my first list of names, or another Supermac or Big Al, but there are lots of players out there who have big hearts and will give total commitment and this is what we need to retain our PL place (if it is not too late already).

We tried signing the tippy tappy lightweights that the total failure Graham Carr gets for us and this has failed. So let us get some battlers and scrappers in and try that, because it can’t  be any worse than playing these gutless, lazy sods we are watching at present.

Mitrovic could well be an asset if he sees players around him who are giving total effort like he was when he first came, at the moment though he sees players who are getting top dollar for no effort, and I fear he might be thinking he may as well take it easy as well.

We have tried playing good football but it is obvious we can’t compete at that, so let us go the other way and try kicking and battling our way to safety, but first we must get some real men in and rid ourselves of the current parasites.
