Newcastle United’s young stars faced Manchester United on Monday night and came away with an excellent 2-1 away win.
The NUFC Under 18 teams met their Man Utd counterparts at the J Davidson Stadium, Moss Lane, the Home of Altrincham FC.
September’s home match against the Mancs had seen arguably United’s best performance of the season, beating Man Utd 3-2 with a hat-trick from 16 year old Lewis McNall.
Tonight it was McNall once again who was on the scoresheet with the first goal in the 32nd minute with his head.
This makes it 10 goals in 1o matches for the 16 year old Geordie striker.
The match was beamed out on the official MUTV channel which is accessible via Sky and Virgin Media, with the armchair Man Utd fans celebrating as Ethan Hamilton equalised for the home side in the 43rd minute.
However, Newcastle’s Luke Charman swooped with 20 minutes to go, his low finish past home keeper Oliver Byrne sending the visitors home to Tyneside with three points and the knowledge of a job well done.
