Young Newcastle star called up for England duty against France
Rising young Newcastle star Alex Gilliead has been called up by England for the Under 20s squad, as they travel to France at the end of this week.
The 19 year old has really thrived on regular football at loan club Carlisle United but will miss their game at Bristol Rovers on Saturday 14 November.
Alex Gilliead is available for this weekend’s FA cup-tie at Plymouth (permission given by NUFC for the player to end up cup-tied) but then will join up with his England teammates.
The 20 man England Under 20s squad travel to take on France in a double header, playing their French counterparts in St Brieuc on Wednesday 11 November and then once again in Ploufragan on Saturday 14 November.
