What should happen with Fabricio Coloccini? – Vote now

Last night brought the revelation that Steve McClaren had told a number of senior Newcastle players that they hadn’t shown enough commitment to the club, plus they didn’t care enough when the team got beat.

Though no individuals were named, it was little surprise to see Fabricio Coloccini the focus of so much attention today.

As Captain there is no player more senior, plus Coloccini has been at the club longer than all but the likes of Tim Krul and Steven Taylor.

Many fans have had their say today about Coloccini and other players, whilst amongst the pundits to have a right go at the Newcastle Captain was Mick Quinn.

He said that the attitude of many players stinks, whilst he accused Coloccini of being a ‘cheat’, until then saying maybe that was too strong a word…

Either way, it isn’t a new thing for fans to doubt Coloccini’s credentials as Captain, whilst it is fair to say many fans were incredulous when he not only kept the captaincy but also got an extended contract at the start of this season.

So after another 13 Premier League matches this season, what do you make of Fabricio Coloccini?

The Telegraph claim that Steve McClaren is giving the Argentine defender one more chance at Palace to prove he is up to job, both as a player and a captain.

What do you think though?

Should somebody like Janmaat or Wijnaldum get the Captain’s job and should Lascelles, Dumett or somebody else play alongside Chancel Mbemba in the middle?

Please vote below and give us your verdict.
