Will Jamie Vardy be fit or not for Saturday?

The striker would become the first player in the history of the Premier League to score in 10 consecutive matches in the same season, if he plays and scores against Newcastle.

Thursday afternoon has seen Claudio Ranieri give his pre-match press conference and he confirmed that Jamie Vardy ‘had trained a little’ on Thursday morning.

The Leicester Manager saying that he hopes he can train on Friday as well and if he is fit he will play.

However, Ranieri says that he is constant dialogue with the medical staff and he will only play Jamie Vardy if he is fit.

The Foxes boss saying that he won’t allow the player to take part if it then risks losing him for a month for the sake of this one game.

Claudio Ranieri:

“Today Jamie Vardy trained a little and tomorrow I hope he can continue to train. On Saturday if he’s fit, he’ll play.

“I speak all the time with the doctors and the physio and if they tell me he’s 100 per cent he’ll play.

“I don’t want to risk a player for one match and lose him for a month.

“Everybody wants to stop Jamie Vardy. That’s normal, but maybe we’ll pass the ball to other players!

“I’m not thinking about who takes penalties or records, I’m thinking about @NUFC. It will be a tough match. Not easy.”
