Newcastle player admits team aren’t giving 100% but adds ‘you can’t win every game’…

Yoan Gouffran has admitted that the team haven’t been giving it 100%.

Bizarrely, he even accepts that at times the players ‘look scared’ when they are on the pitch.

Well here is one Newcastle fan who is most definitely ‘scared’ at the prospect of Gouffran playing in central midfield at Selhurst Park tomorrow.

At Manchester City it was an unmitigated disaster as Anita and Gouffran totally disappeared when the going got tough, with City scoring six goals in 20 minutes.

When you see which players the club put forward to give quotes before a match, it is normally a pretty good guide as to them being included in the team for that game.

I just don’t understand how Newcastle United can expose a player such as Yoan Gouffran even further if he is due to play on Saturday.

The majority of fans have such a negative view of the Frenchman, surely it would make more sense to protect him and just let him quietly slip into the starting eleven tomorrow, rather than wind people up even further with these quotes where Gouffran is admitting the fans are literally too ‘scared’ play in front of their own supporters.

Kevin Keegan has came out and said that Newcastle United are in massive trouble because they don’t have the right kind of players at the club now – what Yoan Gouffran has now said just simply ticks all of those boxes.

Yoan Gouffran speaking to the Chronicle:

“I think that we have to play with some passion, sometimes you can lose games but you must show something.

“The fans are disappointed because we don’t play 100% – sometimes we look scared.

“We need to give 100% for the fans, you can’t win every game but we can’t lose like we did against Leicester.

“It is a special game for him (Alan Pardew) and the players who played with him, really though it is about getting points for us.

“We need wins – there will be no love-in.”
