Michael Owen and Marcelino left in shock at player’s contract decision
Marcelino and Michael Owen are both said to be doing well in hospital, after being treated for shock following news reached them of Paddy Kenny’s contract decision.
The two former Newcastle players who milked the club for every penny before walking away at the end of their contracts, are both said to want Paddy Kenny kicked out of the PFA due to his despicable behaviour.
The former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper signed a short-term contract only 13 days ago at League One club Bury.
However, he has now picked up a calf injury which will rule him out for sometime.
Instead of putting his feet up and banking the cash each week/month, Paddy Kenny has instead voluntarily cancelled his contract.
Whilst the likes of Michael Owen and Marcelino shake their heads at the keeper letting the side down, Bury Manager Gary Flitcroft paid tribute to Paddy Kenny:
“He doesn’t feel like he is going to earn his money now he is injured.
“Quite incredibly he has decided he wants to cancel the contract.”
“He had guaranteed money there but he has said he can’t take money off the football club, which is quite a unique circumstance.”
Hopefully there are more than a few past and present Premier League players shamefaced and shuffling their feet after hearing about Paddy Kenny’s impressive decision.
