Since parting company with Newcastle United ahead of Steve McClaren’s appointment earlier this year, John Carver has been confined to media duties after his management career came to an abrupt end.

There have been no definite reports of Carver being interviewed for any other jobs, although he has been added to the lists of supposedly interested candidates when lower league positions have become available.

However, news today that Alan Pardew’s former assistant is now actively looking to get back into management.

Reports claim that John Carver is now interested in getting a job back in the MLS, having already had a brief spell in management there back in 2008.

He was in charge at Toronto FC before things fell apart amid friction with the owners of the club, with Carver resigning in 2009.

However, Goal.com USA say that their sources tell them that the former Newcastle Coach is actively showing interest in jobs that are now coming up for grabs.

Chicago Fire are one of those searching for a new head coach but the USA’s national team assistant Tab Ramos is believed to be the favourite for that job.

New York Red Bulls coach Mike Petke and the USA’s Under-17 national team coach Richie Williams are said to have already been interviewed for that job but the management are holding out for Ramos.

Newcastle fans will await with interest to see how the former best coach in the Premier League gets on in his next job…
