Injury shock! Can you really miss an attacking player who scores 2 goals in 5 years?
The ‘big’ injury news today is that Gabriel Obertan is out for the next four months.
Apparently he had been due back around about now but he has had to have an operation on his hamstring.
I say apparently because I had (thankfully) forgotten all about him.
There is a recurring theme…
Obertan gets injured.
Everybody forgets about him.
It is reported he is back in training/fit to play.
Normal people think so what?
Whilst the media and the deluded fans talk about whether he will get in the team and how he can potentially improve the side, then to back up the argument they refer to the handful of decent things he has accidentally managed to do in five seasons at the club.
I don’t even know this is even rated as news, Obertan is truly hopeless and is maybe the best example of Mike Ashley’s ridiculous transfer policy.
Buying a player who has achieved nothing in the hope that he will turn into something better than previously seen, given an overly long five year contract and so stuck with him for the duration because nobody is daft enough to even take him on loan.
In five seasons at the club, Gabriel Obertan has scored two Premier League goals, as an attacking player that is laughable.
His overall play is woeful as well, consistently failing to even attempt to try and beat his marker, heading backwards like most of his teammates.
To think of all the glorious moments Hatem Ben Arfa gave us and yet he was forced out, whilst Squidward picks up his wages every month for nothing.
