Adam Armstrong produced yet another match winning performance for Coventry City, watch his two latest goals here – the second one outstanding.
The Newcastle loan player and his team-mates struggled badly early on and were two goals down to Peterborough at the break.
Vincelot pulled one back after 56 minutes but with only 10 minutes to go, Coventry still trailed 2-1.
Up stepped Adam Armstrong with an equaliser in the 80th minute with a straightforward but still well taken goal.
Then with three minutes to go, the 18 year old came up with an outrageous moment of skill that won the three points for the Sky Blues.
Receiving the ball in the box with two defenders in close attendance, the Geordie striker produced a sensational piece of skill to deceive the two Peterborough players and then finished coolly with a left foot strike.
This makes it 10 goals already this season and I really hope he is allowed to stay at Coventry for the whole season and let’s just see what he can achieve in this breakthrough year of progress.
It was the fourth time already this season that Adam Armstrong has scored twice in a game for Coventry.
This is how Coventry manager Tony Mowbray summed up today’s evemts:
“The second half: what can you say?
“The supporters dragged the team along, we attacked with purpose, and Armstrong’s second goal…if any player in the world scored that we would be eulogising that.
“I’m delighted for the fans to see the team play with the heart they showed in the second half, and I’m delighted for the players as well. Hopefully everyone’s going home happy.”
