Wijnaldum perfect strike gives Holland vital first half lead – Video

Georginio Wijnaldum has given Holland a vital first half lead in Saturday’s vital European Championship qualifier, which kicked off at 5pm.

The Newcastle midfielder hit a perfect 33rd minute strike (watch it below) from outside the box into the keeper’s left hand bottom corner.

If Holland maintain their 1-0 lead over Kazakhstan, or better it, they will go up to third in the group and in qualifying spot for the play-offs.

Turkey are away at the Czech Republic in a 7.45pm kick-off tonight and will go into that game a point behind, if Holland win.

Both teams then have one further game to come.

Welcome news as well for Tim Krul, the Newcastle goalkeeper getting a surprise recall for today’s match with Cillessen dropped after the recent disastrous 3-0 defeat to Turkey.

Vurnon Anita is on the bench with Daryl Janmaat sent home with a knee injury.

Good luck to Newcastle’s Dutch contingent in this second half.
