Premier League recent form table – Shock news is Newcastle are not quite bottom!

The Premier League recent form table doesn’t make very pleasant reading if you are a Newcastle fan but it could be worse…just.

No surprise to see the bottom three in the form table are also the bottom three in the full table, with only eight matches played in total.

However, it is Aston Villa who are rock bottom with Newcastle one place higher, two draws to their one.

Sunday’s visitors are also struggling for wins, with only a home win over Bournemouth in these last six matches, Sunderland away was their only other victory this season.

As for the clubs that Newcastle have played in the last half dozen matches, Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and West Ham are all in the top seven in terms of form.

However, both Watford and Chelsea have only one win each in the other five matches they played in this period, suggesting that maybe it was these two games where Newcastle should have picked up the points that would have prevented them being bottom of the Premier League at the minute.

Norwich’s last six results with latest one listed first;

Norwich 1 Leicester 2

West Ham 2 Norwich 2

Liverpool 1 Norwich 1

Norwich 3 Bournemouth 1

Southampton 3 Norwich 0

Norwich 1 Stoke 1

Newcastle’s last six results also listed with the latest result first;

Man City 6 Newcastle 1

Newcastle 2 Chelsea 2

Newcastle 1 Watford 2

West Ham 2 Newcastle 0

Newcastle 0 Arsenal 1

Man Utd 0 Newcastle 0
