Ayoze Perez will be a target for both Manchester United and Tottenham when the January transfer window opens, according to reports in both English and Spanish media.
Louis van Gaal is said to have had the Newcastle striker/attacking midfielder watched by scouts and been impressed by the feedback.
This followed comments from former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson praising the player.
Ayoze Perez then telling the Spanish press he was very flattered by what he’d had to say.
Perez talking to Marca:
“We all know Sir Alex Ferguson and how big he was for football
“They are big words that I have to prove so much but I am young and have a long journey.
“I work so that everything gets better.”
There were claims in the summer that Tottenham had made a bid for Ayoze Perez which was turned down and in recent weeks the player confirmed that this was the case.
Perez saying that he was flattered by their interest as well but that Newcastle had refused to consider letting him go.
