The players the fans want to be left out of Newcastle team v Watford – Results
We asked Newcastle supporters the question of which players do you think should be ‘rested’ from the Newcastle team v Watford.
Who should move aside when Steve McClaren names his eleven to face the Hornets later today?
We wanted to know which players you thought needed to be left out, so as to breathe new life and ideas into a team that has struggled so far, certainly since the opening day of the season.
We asked fans to name one or more, or all, of the eleven players who started against West Ham, or they had the alternative of keeping the exact same team.
As you can see, an overwhelming number of supporters voted for Papss Cisse to be dropped to the bench, Alan Shearer having suggested that Newcastle might as well have been playing with 10 men against the Hammers.
Sissoko is another who is failing to replace, just under half of the voting supporters thinking he is lucky of he keeps his place after another anonymous display.
Whilst the defensive midfield pairing of Colback and Anita is coming under ever-increasing pressure, with fans seeing the combination as a major factor in the team’s struggles.
These are the results, with the figure for each player being the percentage of fans who wanted that player left out today.
78% Cisse
58% Anita
43% Sissoko
35% Colback
17% Thauvin
8% Coloccini
5% Haidara
3% Wijnaldum
Mbemba, Krul and Janmaat all having less than 1% of the fans wanting them left out against Watford.
The option of keeping exactly the same eleven received almost zero votes.
