Sylvain Marveaux lasted 45 minutes in his latest comeback game from injury.
The French winger played the first half against Swansea reserves in a Monday lunchtime game at Whitley Park.
Only featuring in fleeting moments, Marveaux obviously has a long way to go before regaining full fitness.
He was replaced at the half-time break by youngster Sean Longstaff.
Others with first team experience who got some game time, were Rob Elliot, Gael Bigirimana and Ivan Toney.
It was the summer signing from Northampton who eventually kicked off the scoring on the hour mark, Gael Bigirinana picking him out before the striker lifted the ball over the visiting keeper to record his second goal of the season for the second string.
A crowd of 253, which included Steve McClaren, then saw Swansea equalise only five minutes later.
A foul by Liam Gibson handing Swansea a spot-kick and Oliver McBurnie beat Rob Elliot to level things.
Final Score: Newcastle United Under 21s 1 Swansea City Under 21s 1
Newcastle Under 21s: Elliot, Sterry, Adu-Peprah (Gibson 18), Bigirimana, Newberry, Cameron, Hunter, Cobain, Toney, Marveaux (Longstaff 46), Barlaser
