Newcastle United transfer deadline day: With 90 minutes of ‘action’ still to go
With 90 minutes still to go (to 6pm), the Newcastle United transfer deadline day has lived up/down to expectations so far.
Olivier Kemen made the move out of Newcastle last night when he joined Lyon for a fee of up to £1.4m (including add-ons), according to the French media.
However, today there has no real action, although countless rumours of what could happen.
Here is a brief round-up, although I wouldn’t bet much on anything significant happening…
Paul Dummett – Crystal Palace are interested in buying him.
Haris Vuckic – Will sign a contract extension for Newcastle and then immediately go out on loan to Wigan.
Cheick Tiote – Tottenham interested if they don’t get first choice target(s).
Aaron Lennon – Newcastle fighting Everton to take him on loan.
Mike Williamson – Linked with a move to Leeds, Brentford or Brighton.
Shane Ferguson – Confirmed that he has extended his loan at Millwall until January.
Sky reported that Cisse, Gouffran and Williamson all trained as normal today, suggesting they aren’t going anywhere.
Charlie Austin – General view appears to be he will be staying at QPR at least until January.
Ayoze Perez – First speculated last night that Tottenham were interested (for £15m!) and this has been repeated today.
Alex Mowatt – Newcastle claimed to be interested in signing 20 year old Leeds midfielder for £8m.
