Mick Quinn has given Newcastle fans a multiple choice question on Steve McClaren.
The former United striker says he wondered whether the club would get:
The Steve McClaren sacked by Derby, the one who did a good job with Boro and FC Twente, or the ‘wally with the brolly’…
Mick Quinn says that clearly Newcastle have got the ‘wally with the brolly’ at the minute.
The player turned pundit says that McClaren doesn’t look like he has been enjoying the Newcastle job from day one and that he never stops moaning about it.
Quinn saying that it is a privilege to manage Newcastle and also questions the desire of the players under the new Head Coach.
Mick Quinn talking on Talksport:
“I wondered what manager we were going to get as Newcastle manager…..
“The man who was sacked by Derby County?
“The wally with the brolly with England?
“Or the man who did a good job at Middlesbrough and FC Twente?
“Newcastle have got the wally with the brolly at the moment…”
From day one:
“From day one he has looked under pressure, he (McClaren) doesn’t look like he’s enjoying the job.
“He keeps moaning that it is a tough job, but it is a privilege to manage Newcastle United.”
What are you in professional football for?
“Yes, it comes with a bit of pressure but you should enjoy it.
“If you can’t enjoy playing in front of 52,000 fans at St James Park, what are you in professional football for? I think they have lost sight of that.”
Pathetic, inept and embarrassing:
“The Watford game was pathetic, inept and embarrassing performance in front of 52,000 fans. If you are not going to play in that black and white shirt, then get off. It’s just not good enough.
“There’s no hunger, no desire and I’m afraid for McClaren, that if they keep playing in the same way in their next two games (Chelsea and Manchester City) it is going to be a cricket score.”
