The referee has blown his whistle for a free-kick to the Serie A club for another incident and there has been no contact between Messi and the one-time Newcastle defender.
However, Lionel Messi is clearly reacting to something as he marches up to Yanga-Mbiwa and the heads collide, with the Argentine superstar clearly the main aggressor, though the reality is that both players would be red carded in a ‘proper’ match.
