It’s just like watching Brazil…
Surely the Newcastle fans posting negative comments cannot have watched the Southampton game.
What I saw in front of me was a massive improvement on the last few seasons, in fact, compared to the last few seasons, Sunday’s game was like watching 1970s Brazil!!!!!!

Don’t get me wrong, there is a need to improve a lot of aspects of everyone’s game but, most things they did on Sunday is what everyone was screaming for last year.
The ball was played on the floor, passed to a man in space and not hoofed up to Cisse to compete with a bloke twice his size. The groan that came out when the defence played it back to Timmy, when no other option was 100% available, was unbelievable.
At the time we were leading 2-1 against a very good side. What did the groaners want to happen? A pass that had a 50/50 chance of making it to the intended recipient? Or complete control and a chance to reassess the field?
I thought Obertan had a blinder of a game. Before the season started he would have been one of the first to go had I been in charge.
Gini is one hell of a signing.
Big Vurn looks to have taken 4 years to find his feet but had a cracking game and I hope he didn’t do too much damage in that fall.
Mitrovic did exactly what we all would have done at 20 years old making our debut for Newcastle. Pumped up after 50,000 people roared after hearing his name and him coming on, looking to immediately please them. I think it will be a blessing in disguise, he got away with it, got his debut out the way and will learn from it.
Chancel Mbemba looks fantastic (both on and off the field), wasn’t scared and his tackles where hard and fair and he always came away with the ball. He played like he had been at the club for years, not like it was his debut.
I still think Ashley needs to dip his hand in his wallet as well as selling a few.
I was a big fan of Tiote’s 2 years ago but I think his head has gone. He was the reason the game turned in Southampton’s favour in the last 15 minutes in my eyes, allowing them miles of space in front of the defence.
I’d like to see us maybe try and sign Van Dijk from Celtic and try and take advantage of the chaos at OM by going after Thauvin again.
I don’t know if because Austin is a big, English lad valued at £15m is the reason I’ve become obsessed with us signing him but, I’ve seen him play more than I have anyone else we have been linked with, so I can’t comment on them.
I’d like McClaren to try Mitrovic and Perez together, I think the big lad acting as a battering ram and Perez sneaking in would be quite a lethal combination.
I’m not a fan of Ashley’s and I can’t fully forgive him for everything he did but, can I just take my hat off to the club and say thank you.
When I phoned to book tickets for Sunday’s game, I told them my wife was 8.5 months pregnant and wanted to know if we could sit on the end of an aisle for obvious reasons.
They upgraded us to the Platinum Club for no extra charge so that she could sit comfortably in padded seats. Little things like that are appreciated and not forgotten.
Who knows, if the club keep up with things like that, we might all sing from the same song sheet again one day.
